Obituary: Wade Louis Moomaw
Wade Louis Moomaw, 84, of Omak, died Dec. 31, 2011, in Spokane at Sacred Heart Medical Center.
Wade was born Dec. 26, 1927, to Leo S. Moomaw and Mary Picard, at the family homestead on Chicken Creek near Monse, Wash. He was the fourth child of 10 children. Wade worked alongside his father, Leo Moomaw in the rodeo contracting business, while also running a cattle ranch where he continued until his death. Besides ranching he worked at Biles/Coleman Lumber Mill, Okanogan Livestock Market, and hauled fruit for various apple packing plants in the valley.
On June 12, 1948, he married Agnes Margret Bemis in Omak, Wash. His love was family, Limousine cattle, good Quarter Horses and watching his crops flourish. Wade and Aggie shared their home and love with many nieces and nephews and their door was always open to friends and family.
He served as state inspector for the Model Quarter Horse Association. Wade was a member of the Umatilla Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sade, Ide and Marie; and brothers, Ed, Rich, and Duane.He is survived by his wife, Agnes M. Bemis, Omak; daughter, Marty (Scott) Robbins, Omak; daughter, Marla Moomaw, Othello; and son, Timothy (Jill) Moomaw, Waterville; stepmother, Margaret V. Moomaw; brother, Ted A. Moomaw, Texas; and sisters, Edie L. (Vern) Stevens, Omak; and Peggy (Bob) Nelson, Omak; four grand children; one great-grand child; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Memorial services will be held at the Longhouse at St. Mary?s Mission in Omak, Wash. on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at 11 a.m.

Moomaw; brother, Ted A. Moomaw of Texas; sisters, Edie L. (Vern) Stevens of Omak and Peggy (Bob) Nelson of Omak; and numerous nephews and nieces.
