MOOMAW Maxine J. Moomaw, age 86, of Sugarcreek, Oh. died Thursday, July 19, 2007 at Hennis Care Centre at Bolivar. Born March 14, 1921 in Strasburg, Oh. to deceased parents Harry and Fern Sundheimer Andrews. She graduated Salutatorian from Sugarcreek-Shanesville High School in 1939. She married her childhood sweetheart Clifford Moomaw and while he served in WWII she worked in the office of Curtis-Wright Corporation, an airplane factory in Columbus, Oh. and was an executive Secretary with H.R. Lazarus in Columbus. Maxine and Cliff were owners of Moomaw Lumber Co. in Sugarcreek and built and managed their Alpine View Apartments, Moomaw Affiliation Manor and Baltic Haus. She was a lifetime member of Sugarcreek First United Church of Christ. She held offices in the Pythian Sisters Lodge and was a past matron in the Dover Chapter of the Eastern Star. Maxine with her love of history, travel, and sports will be missed by everyone she touched during her long and fruitful life. Preceded in death by by husband Clifford R. Moomaw, whom she married Oct. 5, 1940 and died March 2, 2005, and sister Winnifred Bahler. Survived by 4 children, Sandra J. Moomaw of Westerville, Dr. Ronald C. (Patty) Moomaw of Powell and twins, Drew M. (Angela) Moomaw and Darcie (John) Dubrule, both of Orlando, Fla.; 1 sister, Kay (Roger) Dalton of Richmond, Ky.; 8 grandchildren, Erika Moomaw, Jessica Moomaw, Derrick Moomaw, Jenna Moomaw, all of Columbus, Jeanette Dubrule, Rochelle Dubrule, Julia Moomaw, Cyrus Moomaw, all or Orlando, Fla. Funeral service Sunday, July 22, 2007, 3 p.m. Sugarcreek first United Church of Christ. Rev. Carlan Helgeson officiating. Burial East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours Saturday 3-6 p.m. at BUTLER-VARNS FUNERAL HOME at Sugarcreek.
