Funeral arrangements for Jacob A. Mumma, 48, Ponca City resident who died Monday following a heart attack at Will Rogers Boy Scout Camp near Cleveland, will be held at 2 p. m. Friday in the First Christian Church. The Rev. Loyal S. Northcott will officiate. He will be assisted by the Rev. W. D. Gilbert.

Mumma died Monday morning following a heart attack suffered while taking a swimming test at the Boy Scout camp pool. He was pulled from the pool immediately after being stricken, but efforts to revive him through artificial respiration and attention by a doctor called from Cleveland failed.
Mumma was born July 22, 1906, and moved to Jacksonville, Fla., with his parents while still a young boy. A graduate of the University of Florida, he also attended graduate school at Phillips University, Enid, where he studied for a bachelor of divinity degree in the College of Bible.
He and his wife, Loraine Marie, were married Dec. 21, 1933, at Lakeworth, Fla. Mumma was ordained to the Christian ministry on June 14, 1931, at Gainesville, Fla.
The couple came to Ponca City in 1940 and he was employed in the engineering department of the Cities Service Oil Company here.
An active member of the First Christian Church, Mumma was a former member of the board of deacons, taught in the Sunday School and had been active in the Scout program, serving at one time as Scoutmaster for the church troop. Recently he accepted a position as Explorer advisor for the Evangelical United Brethren Church unit and was attending camp with that group. He also was a past noble grand of the IOOF Lodge and a veteran of World War II. He was president of the Cities Service Credit Union.
Mumma had taken a physical examination here prior to going to camp, and underwent another' routine examination after arriving there, Boy Scout officials here said Tuesday.
Survivors include his wife, of the home, 1603 West Oklahoma; one daughter, Elsie Genevive, of the home; a son, David James, also of the Ponca City residence; one sister, Mrs. Fay Gray, Jacksonville, Fla., and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Mumma, of Jacksonville, Fla.
