Obituary of Amos Cox in Trenton Daily Republican, Trenton, MO. 29 Dec. 1913
AMOS COX, 50, DIED OF BLOOD POISONING Amos B. Cox, 50 years old, a man apparently of great vitality, died at his home on East Eighth street at 7:00 o'clock this morning after an illness which lasted scarcely a week. Although Mr. Cox had been troubled some with erysipelas it had not severely attacked him until a week ago when it came and resulted in blood poisoning and death. Only a few days ago he was seen on the streets of Trenton by his friends who were shocked to hear of his ending. With his parents he came to this country 46 years ago and until August, 1912, he resided on his farm ten miles south of Trenton near the Livingston County line. Since then he has lived in Trenton. He came to this county from Illinois. Besides his wife, the deceased is survived by five children. Mrs. Joe Kilburn, Mrs Lawrence Casebeer, Mrs. Clarence Cruth, who reside in the vacinity and Ernest and Snoda, who live at home. J.F. Cox, a brother also resides here. The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 o'clock at the Skinner church. Rev. R.B. Helser will be in charge. Burial will take place in the Tolle cemetery.
