Well Known Salem Township Resident to be buried Wednesday

Mrs. Amanda Herr, 79, widow of late David Herr, residing four miles north of Urbana, died Sunday morning at 4 o'clock following an attack of paralysis suffered on New Year's day, which had resulted in Mrs. Herr remaining unconsious up to her death. Mrs. Herr was with her husband who died about 19 years ago, a prominent resident of Salem township and their country home and large barn at "Herr's Corner" is one of the landmarks of the State Road. Mrs. Herr had many friends throughout the township and county who regret her passing.
She was a daughter of Jacob and Hettie Mumma and was born in Dolphi (Dauphin?) County, Pennsylvania, June 10, 1844. She leaves three daughters: Mrs. Fannie L. Shelton, Springfield; Mrs. Mamie Girard, wife of Commons Pleas Judge Frank Girard, Nashiville, Tenn.; and Iva M. Taylor of South Vienna, Clark County. One son, Harry died about 30 years ago. Besided these duaghters three grandchildren, Mrs. Edna Davis, Tulsa, Okla; Pauline Girard, Nashville and Naomi Taylor, South Vienna, also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Kingscreek Baptist church, of which the deceased was an active member and worker. Services will be in charge of Rev. Keis of that church. Burial will be made in the cemetery adjoining. In charge of Humphreys and Son.
