Notes:
In the winter of 1833, a scarlet fever epidemic struck the family and in little more than a month, 4 of the 5 oldest children succumbed to the disease. Johan died while on a visit to Westmoreland Co., PA, but the body was returned to Montgomery Co., OH for burial.
