Crystal Moomaw, 84, formerly of Paris, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, in Mary Dickerson Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, in Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John McLean officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Moomaw was born April 27, 1909, in Paris, a daughter of Roy V. and May Bobo Hodges.
She attended schools in Paris and graduated from East Texas State College in Commerce. She taught at Rosa Pearson and Thomas Justiss schools from 1925 until 1981.
She married Bill Moomaw Aug. 19, 1944. He died Dec. 2, 1967.
She was a member of Oak Park United Methodist Church and its Goodwill Sunday School Class which will sit as a group during the service. She was a past member of the church's board of stewards and was a member of the Methodist Women. She held memberships in Texas Teachers Association and the Retired Teachers Association.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. C. E. (Billye) Phelps of Jasper; three grandchildren, Brenda Garrick of Bronson, Mary Lou Doane of Sheridan, Ind.; and Robert Birdwell of San Augustine; and five great-grandchildren.
