Morgan was married to Mary Jane McClure on November 10, 1842. Morgan's 2nd marriage is found in book 6 p 83 Van Wert Co., OH to Nancy L. Shilling. A county history gives Nancy's name as Nancy L Beatty O'Day. Nancy died 31 Jan 1917 and was buried in Morgan's family plot at Woodland Cemetery, VanWert, Ohio. Ellen Copper interviewed Nancy's granddaughter, Mrs. J. A. (Nancy) Downing age 102 on August 29, 1990 in Van Wert, Ohio. She is a granddaughter of Nancy Mumaugh by Nancy's first marriage, and was named after Nancy Mumaugh. Mrs. Downing remembered Morgan's funeral -- that they took his casket to the cemetery by bobsled. She also recalled that he was portly and tall.
Nancy's birth and death dates are from her tombstone. She was married three times, 1) O'Day 2) Shilling 3) Morgan Mumaugh. All of her children were from O'Day. Much information was gleaned from her granddaughter's interview.
