Mumaugh, Viola

Died after a short period in a local hospice near her home in Sun City West, AZ on February 7, 2011. Viola was born in Omaha to Sam and Helen Butera. She was a graduate of North High School and she married her husband John Mumaugh in Omaha in 1943. Viola was a homemaker and mother to seven children and a devout member of the Catholic Church. Two years after her husband's 1980 retirement from United Airlines, the couple moved to Arizona. They retained strong connections to Omaha through many friends and relatives who reside there. Viola is survived by seven children-daughter Katherine Bergquist of Marietta, OK, and six sons--John of Coto de Caza, CA, Daniel and James of Eureka Springs, AR, David of Morrison, CO, Mark of Omaha, NE and Brian of Centennial, CO. All seven children and many of her grandchildren attended a memorial service for Viola in Sun City West, Arizona, on February 10th. Viola is also survived by her sister Nelli Ebner of Santa Barbara, CA, her brother John Butera of Omaha, twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
There will be a FUNERAL MASS for Viola at Mary Our Queen Catholic Church at 10am on Saturday, May 28th, followed by a graveside service at Calvary Cemetery where Viola's ashes will be interred next to her husband who preceded her in death in 1987.
