Obituary Frances (Bowers) Vaile (1912 - 1995)

VAILE - Frances (BOWERS), 82, Calabash, N.C., formerly of Johnstown, died in Shalotte, N.C., on March 25, 1995, after an extended illness. Born in Yellow Creek, Bedford County, May 10, 1912, daughter of late C. Homer and Beulah G. (MUMAUGH) BOWERS. Mrs. VAIL was a graduate of Portage High School and Lock Haven University. She worked for the Red Cross during World War II, and was one of the founding members of the Richland Garden Club. She also worked as a teacher at Nanty Glo High School, and later an elementary teacher in Richland Township schools, until her retirement. Member of Sunnehanna Country Club and Carolina Shores Country Club in Calabash, N.C. On Oct. 13, 1945, she married William P. VAILE, who survives. She is also survived by daughter, Ellen COPPER, State College; and two grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Yellow Creek, with Stevens O. Burr officiating.
