Notes:
George James Dawe, 52, of 2165 Grimwood Dr., was dead on arrival at 9:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Rita's Hospital. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
Controller of the Westinghouse Lima Small Motor Division, he was born in Lima, Oct. 12, 1920, the son of Col. George and Florence Urich Dawe. He was married to Mary Mumaugh and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Larry at home and USAF Capt. Richard L. of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. John (Mary Anne) Walters of Cincinnati; and a brother, Richard of 2097 W. High.
A 1938 graduate of Lima Central High School, he earned a bachelor of arts degree in accounting from Ohio Northern University in 1943.
Mr. Dawe served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a destroyer radar officer prior to joining Westinghouse in 1946 as a time clerk in the accounting department.
He progressed through numerous positions covering operational forecasts, inventory and expense control, salary administration and systems and procedures organization prior to being appointed general accountant for the division in 1966 and controller in 1967.
He was a member of Shawnee United Methodist Church and the Elks Lodge.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Siferd Westwood Chapel, Rev. Larry Hard officiating. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday and after noon on Sunday.
