Joseph and Jane divorced sometime prior to the 1900 census.
In Darold Pierron's write-up about the Mumaw family, he suggested that Joseph and Mary had 13 children. In the 1900 & 1910 census, Jane indicated that she had 10 children with 7 living.
Joseph Mumaw was born in Fairfield county OH Aug. 21 ,1834. He departed life April 20, 1913 ages 78 years 7 months and 31 days
The deceased had been resident of this county and vicinity for many years, and to him as well as all pioneers who felled the forest and made beautiful homes and convenience for the succeeding generation, should be given credit.
In his departure he leave a wife, two sons and four daughter, two of his children having preceded him to the spirit world. He was the grandfather to 30 children and the great grandfather of 9 children.
The funeral service were held at his late residence on Tuesday forenoonof this week with Rev. J. Wesner having charge, and preaching the sermon. Burial in Green Lawn Cemetery by L. Marker undertaker.
