November 22, 1902 - SILAS MUMAW - white, male, married, died at the age of 65 yrs in the hospital for the insane in Weston, Lewis county, WV of exhaustion of dementia. Physician: W H MCCAULEY. Buried: hospital cemetery
Silas is also listed in the West Virginia online vital records, but his surname was poorly written and transcribed as "SILAS MUNCAW". These records also suggest he was buried in the county hospital cemetery, but there is a stone for him in the "Law Cemetery".
Because they were deaf and dumb, it is quite possible they had difficulty communicating with the census taker/etc. and this is why there appears to be large discrepencies in the information such as silas' age, state of birth
