Henry was a railroad Engineer. His route would start in Streator Illinois, to Kansas City Missouri, to South Bend Indiana and back to Streator Illinois. Henry was able to get free train rides for family members. He packed up the family and rode the train to Seattle Washington to start a new life. After two months in Seattle, Henry died. The remaining family never cared much for Seattle, so they moved back to Indiana where his wife Cora became the head of the household and raised the children and some of the grandchildren. Cora never remarried.
