WILLARD, March 20 --- Charles E. Moomaw, Sr., 59, a resident of 608 Fink-st, died Thursday in Crile Veterans Hospital after an illness of seven months. He was born Feb. 21, 1894 at Mount Clifton, Va., and came here 38 years ago, being employed as a yard engineer for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad.
Mr. Moomaw was a veteran of World War I and past commander and member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars here. He was also a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
Surviving are his widow, Lydia; five sons, Edward, Clyde and Robert, all Willard; Roland (sic) and Charles, Jr., both Norfolk; three daughters, Miss Patricia at home, Miss Marjorie and Mrs. James Booth (sic), both Norfolk; seven grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Mary Moomaw, Willard; one brother, Jake, Willard, and three sisters, Mrs. Clyde Zeiters, Attica; Mrs. Russell Cole, Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Anna Lang, Sandusky.
Friends may call at the Fink Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Evengelical United Brethren Church, the Rev. C. D. Wright, officiating. Burial is to be in Willard Cemetery.
NOTE: Crile Veterans Hospital was located in Cleveland OH.
