SHELBY: Bonnie Jean Moomaw, age 85, of Shelby, died Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home in Mansfield.
She was born February 14, 1930 in Greenwich, Ohio the daughter of the late Ralph and Mabel (Ebersole) Fagan. Bonnie was a 1949 graduate of Shelby High School and was a homemaker. She was a caregiver for many years at a number of places including Crestwood Care Center. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Shelby, and enjoyed traveling, playing euchre, cooking, singing and dancing.
Bonnie is survived by her long-time companion with whom she made her home: Jim Ensman of Shelby; a son: Michael (Kathryn) Moomaw of Dunwoody, GA; three daughters: Julie (Greg) Geer of Shelby, Karen Berg of Olathe, KS, Becky (Rodney) Groshens of Rochester, MN; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two brothers: Dean (Ann) Fagan of Bucyrus, Bennie (Connie) Fagan of Shelby; a sister: Pat Meyer of Plymouth. She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles E. Moomaw in 1987; two brothers: Leonard Fagan and Junior Fagan, and a sister: Pam Haley.
Family and friends are welcome on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 AM. Rev. Russel Yoak will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Willard.
