April 22, 1924 - Nov. 29, 2014 Iva Moomaw Allen, 90, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014, in Meridianville, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William Sumpter Allen; her son, William Sumpter Allen III; and a sister, Georgia Josephine Cetner. Left to cherish her precious memory is her son, James Dean Allen of Meridianville, AL; her grandson, Warren Allen and his wife Coretta of Jarrell, TX; and their daughter, Alisha Allen, great-granddaughter of Iva. Iva was a proud US Marine veteran of World War II. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross Disaster Relief Team for over 20 years. She was also one of the charter members of Twickenham Church of Christ and a member there for over 40 years. Iva loved going to the Senior Center and enjoyed China painting there. She will be dearly loved and missed by many! You may visit with the family on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Valhalla Funeral Home from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. There will be a funeral service on Sunday afternoon commencing at 2:00PM in Valhalla's chapel. The interment with military honors, will immediately follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
