June E. Scott of Louisville went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday Dec. 21, 2011. June was born in Stark County (Canton), Ohio on June 8, 1925. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William G. Scott. She is also preceded by her parents Lester and Maude (Moomaw) Royer and two brothers (Joseph Royer and John Royer). June was married to William G. Scott in 1948 and has three daughters, Debra Kohut (Rick), Cheryl Schott (Mike), and Suzanne Scott. She also has five grandchildren, Shawn Morris (Becky), Colleen Kohut, Laura Arbogast (Michael), Joshua Kohut, and William Schott. June also has one great-grandchild, Maya Morris. June graduated from Middlebranch High School of Canton in 1943. She was also a proud graduate of the Mercy School of Nursing in 1946. June loved being a registered nurse. She worked for 40 years at Mercy Hospital. June was close to her fellow graduates up until her death. And since her retirement in 1986 she kept in touch with many of her co-workers as well. Nursing was an important part of June's life which spilled over into her care and love for her family. She was also a member and supporter of the Mercy Alumni Association. Although June had a chronic illness during more than the last 20 years of her life, she was an avid reader. She read all kinds of magazines, newspapers, and books and was always happy to share her knowledge and thoughts with others. In her healthier days, June was also an accomplished seamstress who actually sewed much of her three children's clothing (including their coats)! June was a long time member of Christ United Methodist Church of Louisville. Her family and friends will remember June as a hard working, loving, kind, gentle, caring, nurturing, and happy Christian woman. She is very much loved and will be missed terribly.
