Elsie P. (Updegraff) Moomaw, 96,of York Haven, passed away October 25, 2010, with her family by her side at Church of God Home in Carlisle. She was the wife of the late Norman Moomaw.
Mrs. Moomaw was born December 1, 1914, in Newberrytown, and was the daughter of the late John and Minnie (Willis) Updegraff.
She worked for various sewing factories in the York area and was a member of the Newberrytown Church of God and a life member of Newberry Township Fire Company.
Mrs. Moomaw is survived by her daughter, Rosalie Stabley and her husband, Ervin of York Haven; and her son, Richard Moomaw and his wife Faye of Jacobus; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Almeda Cassel of Etters.
She was preceded in death by five sisters, Helen Aspenfelter, Edith Lentz, Martha Bentzel, Hannah Kundsen and Ruth Updegraff and seven brothers, Lester, Ralph, Paul, Clyde, Clark, Arthur and Infant Boy Updegraff.
Her funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Newberrytown Church of God, 2290 Old Trail Road, Etters. Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 S. Main St., Mount Wolf and Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in Paddletown Cemetery. Officiating at the service will be her pastor The Reverend David Yost.
