Elizabeth I. "Betty" Moomaw, 92, of Harrisonburg, Va., formerly of Wooster, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017, at Sunnyside Retirement Community. She was born Aug. 31, 1924 in Wooster, the daughter of the late Raymond and Ruth (McFadden) Byler, and married Donald L. Moomaw on Oct. 5, 1947. He preceded her in death Sept. 6, 2015.
Surviving are children, Jerald "Jerry" Moomaw and wife, Connie Burk, daughters, Janice Jenner and husband, Hadley, Karen Platt and husband, Marshall and Cheryl Moore and husband, Richard; six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Janet Jamison. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Carl, Glenn and Robert Byler; and sisters, Isabelle Marble and Martha Lytle.
Funeral services will be at the Old Post Chapel on Fort Myer, with interment in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
