The connection of Aaron Mummah as Aaron Mumma, the son of Samuel was made through Aaron's death certificate and the 1850 census of Pine Grove Township, Schuylkill County, PA. The age of Aaron Mumma was correct and his father's name was Samuel. I have been unable to locate Aaron in the 1880 census. He did not marry until 1885, so he would have been single in 1880 at age 21 and probably a miner. He appears next in the 1900 census of Mt. Carmel, Northumberland County, PA.
Further proof of the connection of Aaron is through the Aaron's family bible in which his father's name is listed as Samuel, b. 19 October 1823, d. 1887 and Maria, aka Polly born 6 August 1820 PA died 1896. This bible is in the possession of Marlena Alexander DeNicola. Marlene states
"I have an old family Bible from Aaron and Maria Siglinger Mummah. She was born in PA in 1866. Her parents may have been Jacob and Elizabeth as I found them in the 1880 census in Mt. Carmel. I do know for a fact that her mother's maiden name was Lange and both parents were born in Germany. The Bible also lists Aaron's parents as Samuel (born 1823 in PA, died 1887) and Maria, aka Polly (also born in PA in 1820, died 1896) . They are in the 1850 census in Bethel Twp., Lebanon County. Then they are in the 1860 census with Aaron as a one-year-old, living in Pine Grove, Schuylkill County. The Bible goes on to list their children as Elizabeth (b. 1845), Emmelia (b. 1847), Levi (b. 1850), Henry (b. 1852), William (b. 1854), Harrison (b. 1856), Aaron (b. 1859), and Elijah (b. 1863).
I also found more about Aaron's children. Edna married John Snyder. Levi's wife was Ida Maurer. Another daughter, Emma, survived to adulthood and married Oscar Stecker (sp.?) but died in 1929. I never knew Emma, though I did know Edna, Carrie, and Ida. Maria and Aaron were married in Mount Carmel on August 16, 1884. Their children also included Sadie (b. 1890, died 1892), Charles (b. 1894, died 1897), and Malen (b. 1898, died 1903). That's about all I know for now. Aaron did have a brother named Henry, so perhaps they just spelled their names differently later on.
"
She further writes:
" The Bible is extremely old and has no cover, however, on a page inside it says 1883. The entries are written in two different handwritings, one of which looks to be old pen and ink. These are the exact dates listed: Samuel- 10/19/1823, Mary (aka Polly)- 8/6/1820, Elizabeth- 2/11/1845, Emmelia- 10/24/1847, Levi- 2/1/1850, Henry- 11/17/1852, William- 4/5/1854, Harrison- 9/18/1856, Aaron-7/20/1859, and Elijah-5/28/1863. It is spelled Elijah and the "j" does not look like the "z" in Elizabeth. As for Aaron's children, they appear to have been entered as they were born; then someone went back and listed the dates of death for the children who died. The entries about Samuel and his children were listed on a separate sheet of paper tucked into the Bible. They are all in the same handwriting, old pen and ink. Aaron's children: Emma- 9/18/1885 in Mount Carmel, Caroline- 10/17/1886 in Mount Carmel, Edna- 10/5/1888 in Mount Carmel, Sadie- 3/25/1890, in Mount Carmel, died 1892; Levi Samuel- 9/24/1891 in Willberton, Columbia County (?); Charles- 8/25/1894, died1897; Mabel- 2/25/1897; Malen- 9/28/1898, died 1903. No birthplaces are listed for the last 3 children. I don't know where Samuel and Polly are buried.

Chapters 18-19 about Mt. Carmel
----------------------------------------
Church of God.- Elders A. Snyder and Jacob Hepler were the first ministers of this denomination who preached at Mt. Carmel. An organization was effected in 1880 by Elder J. C. Hoover, and the first members were Levi Werntz and wife, William S. Eyers and wife, and Benjamin Hepler and wife. Services were first held at private houses and at a school house near the old Reading depot. A building site on the east side of Chestnut street between Second and Third having been donated by Elizabeth Clouser, the present frame church edifice was erected thereon and dedicated on the 21st of October, 1883. It has since been materially enlarged. Elders J. C. Hoover, D. H. Mummah, S. Smith, F. Y Weidenhammer, and J. W. Miller have successively served as pastor.

[Note: The D.H. Mummah listed in this history is unknownd. It is likely this is David H. Mumma who was a minister. There is no known connection to Aaron Mummah]
