MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Betty B. Hedges, 80, of Middletown, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, at her home.
She was the wife of the late John H. Hedges, whom she married Oct. 10, 1946.
Born in Hagerstown, July 5, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Eli Clifford and Mildred Mumma Beachley.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Middletown.
She was employed by C&P Telephone Co. for many years, was the receptionist for Dr. Robert Fulton DVM in Middletown for a numbers of years, was an Avon sales representative and also clerked at Middletown Town elections.
She was a life member of the Middletown AMVETS.
She is survived by one daughter, Andrea Bowers and husband, Rodger, of Hagerstown; two sons, John K. Hedges and wife, Darlene, of Middletown and Ronald L. Hedges and wife, Ann, of Walkersville, Md.; six grandchildren, Kevin Hedges, Jeremy Hedges, J.T. Hedges, Justin Hedges, Justin Bowers and Whitney Bowers; and two cousins, Orpha Stockslager of Hagerstown and Jane Spencer of Dover, Del.
Friends may call from noon until 9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 312 E. Main St., Middletown. The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 27, at the funeral home. Interment will be made in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.
