Andrew Mumaw, Son of Abraham Mumaw and Mary Shank, was born in 1857. I got that information from his tombstone inscription where he is buried in Grandfield, Okla.
Also, his obituary, copied from the files of the Grandfield Enterprise gives the date of his burial as Dec. 10, 1942. It said the funeral was held on Thurs. Dec. 10 for Mr. Mumaw who had died on Tues.( which would have been Dec. 8.)
Mr. Andrew Mumaw is buried with his second wife, Nancy Catherine Shafer, better known as Kate. The birth and death years inscribed on the tombstone under her name are 1860-1928. I also have a copy of her obituary. taken from the Grandfield, Okla. Enterprise which gives her date of birth as Dec. 26, 1860, at Oden, In. and her date of death as July 7, 1928.
I have a copy of the marriage certificate that states that Andrew Mumaw and Nancy Catherine Shafer Baird (this was her 2nd marriage) were joined together in marriage May 6, 1898.in Daviess county, Indiana.
There were at least 3 children born to this couple,
Andrew was born Sept. 15, 1899, in Oden, Daviess county, Ind. and he died in March, 1981 at Labette, Kansas. I got that information from his Soc.Sec.death record so I think it is accurate. However, I have sent for his obituary so I hope to confirm that and have his exact date of death shortly and will send it to you.
Mary Mumaw was born Aug. 27, 1901 in Oden, Daviess county, Ind. She died Jan. 27, 1994 in Wichita Falls, Tx. I got these dates from her obituary and from her Soc. Sec. death record.
Walter Mumaw was born Oct.2, 1903 in Oden, Daviess county, Ind.and died in July 1987 at Grandfield, Okla. I got that information from his Soc.Sec. death record but I have also sent for a copy of his obituary so I will confirm that nad send you his exact date of death also.
This same Andrew Mumaw married his first wife, Amanda Jane Storm, on Jan.4, 1883, not March 19. I have a copy of their marriage license also.
