Geraldine M. "Gerry" Mumma, 62, of Port Byron, Ill., died Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Trinity Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Gibson Funeral Home, Port Byron. Burial will in Bethesda Cemetery, Hillsdale. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to the Church of the Cross, Port Byron, or to Pathway Hospice.
The former Geraldine Marie Bobb was born August 26, 1944, in Moline, the daughter of Harold and Clarice Engholm Bobb. She married Brian Mumma on June 1, 1963, in Silvis. Gerry had been employed at the Moline Chiropractic Clinic and at the Bobb Chiropractic Clinic. She had also been active with the family farm operation. She was a member of the Church of the Cross. She was a former member of the Silvis and United Township PTA and Booster Clubs. She enjoyed bowling, arts and crafts, golf, home decorating, but most of all raising her four children and supporting their activities.
Survivors include her husband; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Steve LeBlanc, Port Byron; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Kristi Mumma, Silvis, Dan Mumma, Port Byron, and D.J. and Erin Mumma, Iola, Kan.; nine granddaughters; a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Dan and Donna Bobb, Hampton; a sister, Mary Brown, Muscatine; and a sister-in-law, Sharon Dietz, Hillsdale. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
