Mumma. - On the 22nd of March, in Cumberland county, Pa., LIZZIE MUMMA, aged 21 years, 6 months and 24 days. She was a daughter of Enos and Nancy Bergy. Four days previous to her death she was baptized, and received into the church. She leaves a husband and two children. Upon being asked in regard to her departure she said "I would rather die than stay here." Shortly before she died she said, I see the river, and on either side of the river is the "tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yields her fruit every month, and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations." Funeral discourses were delivered at the house by Geo. Rupp and S. Zimmerman from Mark 13; 26, 17. Her remains were brought to the home of her parents in Lost Creek Valley, Juniata county. On the 25th her remains were consigned to the Lost Creek burying ground. Funeral discourses were delivered by Jacob Graybill and Wm. Graybill. from I Pet. 1:24, 25.
There is confusion regarding her date of death. Herald of Truth says 22 March, but her tombstone says 16 March.
