Alice F. Barton, 64, of Elyria, formerly of Lima, died at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Columbia Nursing Home.
Born March 9, 1909 in South Bend, Ind., she was the daughter of Josephus and Jennie Dye Moomaw. She married Robert C. Barton and he survives in Elyria.
Survivors also include a son, Robert J. of St. Louis, Mo.; a daughter, Mrs. E.S. (Betty) Evans Jr. of 1861 Wendell; and five grandchildren.
Mrs. Barton was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Elyria. She was a graduate of Indiana University and a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She was also a member of the Lima chapter of the DAR, the Lotus Club and the T and T Club. She was Girl Scout commissioner in Lima from 1944 to 1946 and was president of the Lima Convalescent Home Auxiliary in 1962 and 1963. She was also a Red Cross volunteer.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Siferd Westwood Chapel, Rev. Charles W. Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
