Mildred Q. Mumma

Mildred Q. Mumma 1915-2012, was born November 28, 1915 in Covell, IL, the daughter of Roy and Mabel (Hougham) Quinn. She passed peacefully at home with her family by her side on July 20, 2012.
She was raised and lived on a farm in central IL until she married. At that time, she moved to Ft. Wayne, IN and lived there until she moved to Sun City in 1982.
She received a BA in Education from IL State University in 1937 and a Master's in Art from Colorado State College in 1942. On June 12, 1954, she married David R. Mumma Sr. She taught business subjects in high school for 39 years in Illinois and Indiana and at Ft. Wayne Business College for two years. She was recognized and listed in the 1975 edition of OUTSTANDING SECONDARY EDUCATORS OF AMERICA.
Her husband preceded her in death on July 19, 1970. She is survived by a brother, Ray Quinn of Denver, CO; 5 nieces; 1 nephew; a stepson, David R. Mumma II of Payson, AZ; 2 step-grandchildren, 6 great-step-children; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church. A memorial will be held to honor her life on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the church, 9849 N. 105th Avenue.
