His life was summarized in the pastorial records of Henry Shaffner who was a pastor of the German Reformed Church in Columbia, PA. A copy of his pastoral records is available at the Lancaster County Historical Society in Lancaster, PA. The following entry in his record was transcribed for me by Roger P Minert amd Rudolf H. Michaels.

"Johannes Mumma was born on 2 September 1806, the son of Peter Mumma and his wife Anna. I [pastor] christened and confirmed him and presided over his wedding and his funeral. He married Anna Hammacher on 12 May 1829 and they had three children. He died on 19 October 1835 at the age of 27 years, one months less a few days. He had fallen under the carts and was killed."
The marriage records of the First Reformed Church of Lancaster list the marriage date as 4 May 1830. I am unsure which is the correct date.
