BONNIE JEAN CAPPELLO
Bonnie Jean Cappello, 77, of DeKalb, Ill., died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at her sister's home in Genoa.
Born Oct. 9, 1926, in Elnora, Ind., she was the daughter of Cullen B. and Mary (Humerickhouse) Mumaw. She married Gene J. Cappello on Dec. 29, 1973, in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Bonnie worked as an office clerk for 32 years for an insurance company in St. Petersburg. Following 40 years in St. Petersburg, she resided in the DeKalb area since 2000. She was a resident of DeKalb County for a total of 30 years. She attended Clark and Aldridge country schools and was a graduate of Sycamore High School. Bonnie was a very loving aunt and sister and a dear friend to many.
She is survived by a sister, Verta M. Stott of Genoa; 11 nieces and nephews, Leon (Martha) Mumaw of Sandwich, Kay (Ron) Duy of Elgin, Ron (Cindy) Marshall of Spearfish, S.D., JoAnn (Jerry) Koertner of Pleasanton, Neb., Mary (Leonard) Davidson of Osceola, Neb., Patricia (Doug) Nickell of Lincoln, Neb., Susan (Alan) Porter of Chester, Neb., Karen Stott of Newport Richey, Calif., Dennis (Sherry) Stott of Ellsworth, and June (Steve) Kubasiak and LuAnn (Mike) Dreska, both of Genoa; many great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene; a brother, Leo Mumaw; two sisters, Lucille Marshall and Thelma Sack; and a niece, Lynn Pitsch.
The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 27, at Mayfield Congregational Church, with the Rev. Mary Gay McKinney officiating. Burial will follow at Mayfield Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, at Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore.
