Her death certificate was filed in Clark Co., OH They were living in Clark County Ohio in the 1880 cenus. They appear in the 1885 census of Mercer Twp. of Adams Co., Iowa. It is unknown where John Erter died.

Per the 1900 census, Sarah listed no children, but per the 1910 census she had given birth to 1 but had no living children. It is possible that the 1 child listed in the 1910 census was her son, William Erter who appears to have died.
