Genevieve L. Huffine
Genevieve L. Huffine, 87, formerly of Ridge Township, Van Wert County, died at 7:49 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, at Vancrest Health Care Center. She was born July 4, 1914, in McGill in Paulding County, the daughter of the late Clarence M. and Luella (Fisher) Mumma. On June 8, 1934, she married Otto Paul Huffine, who preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 1986. Mrs. Huffine and her husband owned and operated Campbell Hardware Store in Van Wert for over 40 years. She was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church and its Gleaners Sunday School class and Martha Circle. A graduate of Blue Creek High School, she attended Cars Business School in Van Wert and Warner Beauty School in Fort Wayne, Ind. She was a past member of the Ridge Progressive Club. Survivors include two daughters, Loretta A. (Hadyn L.) Williams of Van Wert and Debra L. (Robert) Yoxthimer of Loveland; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Huffine of Plano, Texas; six grandchildren, Rick R. (Carol) Williams and Nick K. (Lori) Williams, both of Van Wert, Mick J. (Mary Ann) Williams of Anoka, Minn., Lori L. (Michael) Shea of Kingsland, Texas, and Rob (Bekah) Yoxthimer and Ryan Yoxthimer, both of Loveland, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Clarence Irvin Huffine, who died Jan. 24, 1997; a brother, Frederick Mumma, and a sister, Dora Morrine McClure.
