"Ray Albert Snyder, 84, of 1118 N. Jefferson, died Friday, September 25, 1998 in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, October 1, 1998; 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Sam Rathod & Rev. Fred Snyder officiating. Private family burial at a later date. No visitation or viewing, Mr. Snyder's body was donated to medical science.
Ray Albert Snyder was born March 4, 1914 in Buffalo County, Nebraska to Albert C. and Mary A. (Woodman) Snyder. He graduated from Kearney Senior High School, Kearney, Nebraska in 1931 and attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln for 1 year. He married Evelyn L. Mumma in Nelson, Nebraska on December 27, 1946. She preceded him in death February 1, 1997. Ray farmed for 13 years and from 1946 to 1966 he was Sales/Credit Manager for Dutton Lainson Company. From 1968 thru 1974, he was Executive Director for the Girl Scout Council in Grand Island, Nebraska. Ray was a member of First United Methodist Church, De Molay, Junior Rural Nebraskans, Ag Men Social Club, Overland Trails Boy Scout Council, Nebraska State Historical Society, Past President Adams County Genealogical Society, Son of the American Revolution, Noon Lions Clubs of Hastings & Grand Island, Nebraska and Charter President of Hastings Golden K Kiwanis Club. He was also a recipient of the Boy Scout Silver Beaver award. Ray was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Evelyn Snyder.
