G. Cedric C. Mumaw, 89, Kokomo, died at 6:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at North Woods Commons. He was born Oct. 22, 1917, in Kokomo, the son of Harry and Gertrude (Parker) Mumaw. On Oct. 12, 1941, he married Eulalia A. (Hardy) Mumaw, who passed away May 16, 1999.
He worked at Continental Steel for 35 years of service as the supervisor of the designers department. They retired and moved to Escondido, Calif., where they enjoyed playing golf and where he made two holes-in-one in his career.
He graduated from Kokomo High School in 1939 and served in the U. S. Army Signal Corp. where he was master Tech Sergeant.
Survivors are a daughter, Connie Pesek, Elizabeth; a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Gary Loman, Galveston; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Charles E. and Hideko Mumaw, Kailhu, Hawaii; brother and sister-in-law, Richard G. and Phyllis Mumaw, Kokomo; sisters, Neva Louise Aamoth and Wilma Jean Darlin, both of Kokomo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Linda Sue Becker; two sisters, Violet May Rayn and Anna B. Imbler; and a brother, Sylvester Mumaw.
Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ellers Mortuary, Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St., with Pastor Kerry Williams officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery, with full military rites conducted by the VFW Military Rites Team. Calling is 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
