MOOMAW.-In the Botetourt church near Daleville, Va., Sept. 20, [1888] sister Mary, wife of Bro. Joseph Moomaw, aged 69 years less 11 days.
Thus pass away our mothers in Israel! First and most faithful at the bedside of the sick in the community, her willing mind made her a leader upon Communion occasions. Our prayer to God Is, that he may prepare and bring forward another to fill her place, which the church can not afford to have vacant. From the bedside of the sick, in connection with family duties, rugged in health, never before having had the aid of a physician, she took her bed. to sleep in Jesus.
She whiled away her last hours without a murmur. What a monument to Christianity! How consoling to her devoted husband and believing children to know they have a wife and affectionate mother waiting and watching for them over there. Oh may those of her family who have not felt Jesus precious unto them, look upon that vacant maternal chair and ever remember there is a preparation indispensable to a reunion with that mother, whose kind and willing hands had so lately and so often lent them assistance in their afflictions and sorrows.
