Anna M. (Mumma) Loy, 94, died Thursday, February 21, 2008 at her place of residence in Country Meadows, Hershey.
Born May 22, 1913 in North Annville Township, Lebanon County, she was the daughter of the late Elias and Annie (Reese) Mumma. She was the youngest of 9 children, all of whom predeceased her.
She was a 1931 graduate of Palmyra High School. For 17 years she worked as a cashier for the Palmyra High School cafeteria, retiring in 1978.
She was an active and life-long member of Palm Lutheran Church in Palmyra and was very proud of her Lutheran heritage. A quite accomplished piano player, she enjoyed playing her piano daily.
Anna was the widow of Walter E. Loy, Sr., who died in 1968.
Surviving are six children: Annamarie, wife of Philip Schmidt of Rocherty; Walter, Jr. and wife, Janet of Lynchburg, VA; Sandra, wife of Howard Summy, Allentown; Amalie Gingrich of Palmyra; Anthony R. and wife, Susan of Colonial Park, Harrisburg; and Kevin M. and wife, Susan of Lawn. Surviving in addition are 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at Palm Lutheran Church, Palmyra from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, followed by her funeral service at 12 noon. Rev. Dr. John D. Merkel, Rev. Richard H. Summy, her grandson, and Rev. Paul W. Steel will officiate. Burial will be in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville.
