H. James Mumma, 61, of New Cumberland, PA, died Thursday, February 8, 2007 in his home.
Born June 17, 1945 in Columbia, PA, he was a son of the late Harold S. and Jane Tschudy Mumma.
He was a graduate of Columbia High School and received an Associate Degree in Accounting from Franklin and Marshall College. He was self-employed. James was a member of Christian Life Assembly in Camp Hill, where he was an active volunteer and for a number of years headed the construction crew for church dramas. He was a member of Columbia Lodge #286, F&AM.
He is survived by his wife, Anna M. Slaseman Mumma, whom he married June 14, 1996; two step-daughters, Tammie A. Barrett and husband, Steven J., and Lisa M. Chapman and husband, Rory L., both of Chambersburg; five step-grandchildren, Ashley Barrett, Jaimee and husband, Dustin Kendall, Gayle Shatzer, and Everett, and Athena Chapman; three step-great-grandchildren, Destynee, Cameriyn, and Lillian; and two sisters, Carol Herr and husband, Ronald of Leola, and Kay Kane and husband, Gregory of Washington Boro; as well as 2 nieces, 2 nephews, and 3 great nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Benjamin Lee Daihl in 1991.
Funeral services under the direction of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, February 12, 2007 in Christian Life Assembly, Camp Hill, PA. The Rev. Ronald Smith will officiate. Interment will be at 2:45 p.m., in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in church.
