Richard C. Moomaw

WILLARD: Richard C. Moomaw, age 68, resident of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born on March 19, 1943 in Willard, Ohio to Lester and Marguerite (Jacobs) Moomaw.
He was a graduate of Springfield High School and also a graduate of Wright State University. Richard served in the Air National Guard and worked with the Defense Supply Center in Kettering, Ohio. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was a civil war buff. Richard enjoyed Lake Erie and playing the trumpet with numerous "Big Bands," including the North Coast Band and the Gang Band. He was a life member of the NRA and member of the Ohio Gun Collectors.
He is survived by his mother, Marguerite Quinton of Willard; one sister, Patricia (William) Eicher of Willard; one niece, Kim (Larry) Rice of Willard; two nephews, Craig (Connie) Hedden of Dublin and Andrew Hedden of Willard; two great nieces, Amy (Jon) Hobson and Karis (David) Thiel; two great nephews, Matthew and Graham Hedden; two step sisters, Janet Peters and Carolyn Brown and one step brother, Fred Quinton.
He is preceded in death by his father, Lester Moomaw and step father, Randy Quinton.
Friends may call on Friday, November 4, 2011 at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio from 6:00 to 8:00 PM where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 1:00 PM with Reverend Joseph Bartczak officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Willard.
