Notes:
Son of Henry Godfrey Pobst of Germany and Sarah Betts Stover of PA. His date of birth on the death certificate given as Nov. 21. 1838. A reviee of the census records show he was born after 1840 and with an expected birth year of 1842, so it appers that the tombstone is in error. Charles was a blacksmith. He was the father of Mabel Pobst Seager and Clarence Pobst from his second marriage..
He enlisted in Company E, Virginia 36th Infantry Regiment on 17 Apr 1862.
The death certificate also states burial was in Bob's Branch Cemetery, same as for his wife Emily. However, both of them are now buried at Milton Cemetery. He was originally buried at Mayo Cemetery on Bob's Branch and disinterred sometime during the 1950's to Milton Cemetery.
