Hazleton Plain Speaker, Monday, May 4, 1959:
Harry J. Mumaw, 553 West Green street, died at 10:50 yesterday morning at the State Hospital where he had been a patient for the past month. A life-long member of the First United Presbyterian church and an honorary member of the Ushers Association of that church he was the last surviving worthy patron of Hazleton Chapter 248 O. E. S. and a member of Hazleton Lodge 327 A. and A. M. For 30 years, until his retirement in 1948, he was the chief electrician at Cranberry.
His wife, Nellie, preceded him in death in 1954. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Willard J. Snyder, city school teacher, who resided at home; and Mrs. Fred J. Engell, Delmar, N.J.; two grandchildren, John and James Engell; the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. G. H. VanNauker, Miss Edith Mumaw, Mrs. George Patterson, all of Hazleton; Mrs. Walter Penman, Lebanon, Pa.; Guy N., West Hazleton; Arthur D., Union, N.J.; and F. Barton, Eustis, Fla.
Private funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Bachman funeral home with Rev. Frederick B. Crane, D. D., officiating. Interment will be in the St. Johns cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 o'clock this evening.
