F . Evelyn Mumaw, 84, passed away Friday evening at Hazleton General Hospital. She spent the past years as a resident of Providence Place, Drums, and originally lived on Foothills Drive, Sugarloaf.
Born in Conyngham, on January 8, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Ray and Mae (Schultz) Winters, and spent most of her life in Sugarloaf. Evelyn was a member of St. John's U.C.C. and Ganoga Lake Association in Sullivan County for 37 years.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Burton R. Mumaw, on April 2, 2003; brother and sisters Mervin, Mildred, Beatrice, Alberta, Dorothy and Harriet.
Surviving are son Byron and his wife, Christine, Winterville, N.C.; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Heather and Bethany; brothers Sam Winters, Wapwallopen, and Harold Winters, Berwick; and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran and U.C.C. Cemetery, St. John's.
