Notes:
Harold L. Hostetter, 89, passed from this life to the next on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Landis Homes Retirement Community. He was the husband of Jean Mumma Hostetter, with whom he celebrated 65 years of marriage on Nov. 8. 2012.
Born July 4, 1923, in Manor Township, he was the son of the late Christian and Stella Mowrer Hostetter. He retired in 1990 after 22 years of service from the Hempfield School District where he worked as a custodian. Prior to that, Harold was a farmer in West Hempfield Township. He was a member of Habecker Mennonite Church where he joyfully served as custodian for many years. Harold was committed to his family and the church which were important parts of his life.
In addition to his wife, he will be missed by his children: Janet L., Marietta; Joyce E., wife of J. Richard Thomas, Ronks; Clair M., husband of Orpha Deinner Hostetter, Lititz; Mary Ann, Mount Joy; Glenn M., wife of Lois Braun Hostetter, Washington Boro; 8 grandchildren.; a twin brother, Harvey Hostetter, Lititz, and a sister, Elizabeth Nissley, Lititz. He was preceded in death by four sisters: Dora Heisey, Miriam Breneman, Esther Myer, and Mary Lefever.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 19, at 10 AM at Habecker Mennonite Church, 451 Habecker Church Road, Lancaster, PA. A visitation will be held before the service from 9-10 AM.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Landis Homes for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Landis Home Caring Fund, 1001 East Oregon Rd., Lititz, PA 17543.
