Year, but Seriously Ill Only
Nine Weeks

John Henry Mumaw died at his home near Lebanon Church Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock, death resulting from cancer of the liver. For the past year his health had not been good but it was only nine weeks ago that his condition became much worse and he was forced to give up his work.
He was the son of John William and Amelia Ritenour Mumaw and was born at Oranda July 25, 1867. He moved to a farm near Lebanon and there he spent the remainder of his life. At the age of twenty-six he married Miss Ida Frye, of Coal Mine and to them were born six sons, Arthur M., Strasburg; Statton and Abner, Tiffin, Ohio; Benjamin, near Lebanon; and William, at home. One son died some years ago. Mrs. Mumaw died April 2, 1901. In 1902 he married Miss Frances Brill of Star Tannery.
He is survived by his widow, his five sons, eight grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Oma Jenkins, of Oranda.
Mr. Mumaw possessed many friends. He was a man of the strictest integrity, honest and upright in all his dealings, and a kind husband and father. He was a member of the Christian Church, Oranda.
The funeral service will be held Friday morning at 11 o'clock in the Lutheran Church, Lebanon, conducted by Rev. P. E. Shealy.
The pallbearers will be Messrs. Cletus and Frank Campbell, Milton and Jack Hockman and Edgar and Hugh Hockman. The honorary pallbearers will be Messrs. Fahnestock, Harvey Smith, Frank Hahn, O. M. Painter, A. E. Keller and E. D. Funkhouser.
