John W. Brown Retired N&W Employee Dies:
John William Brown, 70, retired employee of the Norfolk and Western Railroad in Berryville died at his home in that place Sunday evening at 7 o'clock.
He was a native of Shenandoah county having been born there January 22, 1876 and was a son of the late John William Brown and Elizabeth Muma Brown, of that county.
The deceased was employed by the Norfolk and Western for a number of years as watchman at the Berryville railroad crossing. He was retired from active duty about a year ago. He was a member of Modern Woodmen, Camp No. 11469, Berryville.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Rosa Bishop Brown, of Berryville, and a number of children.
Funeral services will be conducted from the John H. Enders Funeral Home in Berryville tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock by the Rev. R. Carrington Paulette, pastor of the Berryville Baptist Church. Interment will be in Green Hill Cemetery there.
