Selwyn Muma
Selwyn 'Slick' Muma, a longtime Hood River Valley resident, died Nov. 8, 2006,at Hawks Ridge Assisted Living. He was 78 years of age.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m. at ParkdaleCemetery. A reception will follow at the community building at the Hood RiverFairgrounds.
Slick was born Sept. 27, 1928, in Hood River, Ore., to Wesely and Violet (Ross)Muma. He attended Mt. Hood Grade School and Parkdale High School. On Oct. 1,1948, he and Hazel Williams were married in Stevenson, Wash.
Slick worked as a truck driver, retiring from Hanel's at age 65. He enjoyedplaying cribbage and pinochle and drinking beer and socializing.
He was preceded in death by his wife and 13 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his daughters, Gloria Sappington of Portland, Ore., and KathyWillis of Hood River, Ore.; sons Roger Muma and his wife, Florence, of BrushPrairie, Wash., Stanley Muma of Phoenix, Ariz., Mike Muma and his wife,Heather, of Hood River and Dean Muma and his wife, Debbie, of Portland, Ore.Ten grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews alsosurvive.
