According to an obituary in the Kalamazoo Gazzette dated Saturday, September 26, 1931, George W. Rayman, 85, a resident of this city for 11 years, died at his home, 323 West Frank Street, Friday afternoon. He resided in Ohio before moving here in 1920. He is survived by two sons, Clarence Rayman of Edwardsburg, Michigan, and Russell Rayman of this city; three daughters , Mrs. Bertha Kenly, Mrs. Mary Scamehorn, and Mrs. Georgia Beegle, all of Kalamazoo; a brother, Samuel Graves, Urbana, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. William Gerrod, Van Wert, Ohio, and Mrs. Myrtle Loomis, Ashtabula, Ohio; 17 grandchildren, and an equal number of great-grandchildren.
Other notes on George W. Rayman: According to his tombstone, George W. Rayman served i n the Civil War, Company K, 46th Ohio Infantry, and is buried next to his wife Sarah Elizabeth (Mumaugh) ; his son Russell and his wife Minnie P. (Cook); his daughter Georgia Elizabeth (Rayman) Beegle and her husband Earl F. Beegle. Elsewhere in the same cemetery is buried Willi am L. and Alberta (Rayman) Kenly. They are all buried at Hillside Cemetery, Plainwell, Allegan Co., MI
