The Greenmount Cemetery has the following burial records
--------------------------------
> David b. 2 Aug 1803 - interred 7 June 1851
> Julia b. 13 Aug 1805 - interred 18 Aug 1876
The First Reformed Church of Baltimore records show:
David son of Johannes Mumma & Elizabeth, geb Adam; Ludwig Herring witness, b. 1803 Aug 2, bpt. 1803 Sept. 25th
This clarifies that David's correct father was Johannes Mumma, the son of David b: 1751. This was in error in Robert Moomaw's book.
The following facts are confirmed:
1) A David Mumma was born to John and Elizabeth Adams Mumma on 2 Aug 1803. (Reformed records).
2) David Mumma married a Julia Ann Taylor about 1823 (Baltimore marriage records).
3) David Mumma and Julia Ann Mumma are buried next to each other in Greenmount Cemetery (Church records and visual)
4) From the cemetery records, David Mumma was b. 2 Aug 1803 - interred 7 June 1851 and Julia Mumma was b. 13 Aug 1805 - interred 18 Aug 1876.
David is identifed as the Grantee in the deed [AWB 405 folio 43] for the sale of his mother's land after her death in 1848. There are numerous other deeds in which he is listed.
David's death date is recorded on a petition to the Orphans Court that Julia Ann Mumma, his widow, filed on 9 April 1855 in York Co., PA regarding 163 acres of land in Schrewsbury Township, York Co., which David purchased in 1846. She requests permission to sell the land. Also in this document, his children are named, i.e. Eugenia D., wife of Louis Gabler of Baltimore Co., MD; Sarah wife of Ross T. Pennington of Baltimore City, MD; Edward W. Mumma of Adams County, PA, All of age, and David T. Mumma, Priscilla S. Mumma, Julia A. Mumma (the younger), Margaret Mumma and John J.
