Elva M. Linard, 84, of Luther Acres, Lititz, formerly of Marietta died Saturday at Essa Hospice Center after a brief illness. She worked in packaging and inspecting for Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories, Marietta, retiring in 1983 after 30 years. Mrs. Linard was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Marietta, where she belonged to the choir and the ladies auxiliary. She also was a member of the Mount Joy Leisure Club and Elizabethtown Senior Citizens. Born in York, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Miriam Sperla Mumma.
Her husband Mervin G. Linard died in 1974.
Surviving are three sons, Jerome M., married to Dolores Linard and Jack M., married to Cheryl Linard, both of Mount Joy, and Jay M., married to Sharon Linard of Orwigsburg;three daughters, Judy M., married to Carl J. Bass of Mount Joy, Joanne M., married to Jeffrey L. Ruhl of Elizabethtown, and Joyce M., married to Charles D. Shireman of Marietta; 14 grand-children, three great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grand-children;and two sisters, Dorothy Dyer of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Bertie, married to Frank Miller of Lancaster.
