Mary R. died 25 April 1849 - Source: Marriages & Deaths in the Baltimore Sun-1837-50.
Baltimore (Maryland) Sun, Wednesday, April 25, 1849:
On the 24th instant, MARY REBECCA MUMMA, aged 1 year, 5 months and 24 days, only child of David N. and Mary Ann Mumma.
Alas! how changed that lovely flower,
Which bloomed and cheered my heart;
Fair fleeting comfort of an hour,
How soon we're called to part.
A flower once on my bosom bloomed,
I revel'd in it's charms;
But while I gazed and smiled and loved,
It faded in my arms.
Mary Rebecca, oh my sweet love,
When forced with thee to part,
Thou ne'er wilt feel or know
The grief that wrung my heart.
Still oft I hoped thy smiles would cheer
My last declining years;
Would calm thy mother's heaving sigh,
And hush her anxious fears.
The friends of the family are respectfully requested to attend the funeral, on this (Wednesday) afternoon, at four o'clock, from her father's residence, No. 116 York street.
