Margaret Czech
SPRINGFIELD - The funeral Mass will be held in California for Margaret Amelia Czech of Springfield, formerly of Oakridge, who died Feb. 20 of age-related causes. She was 87.
She was born Sept. 22, 1917, in Toledo, Ohio, to Jess and Mildred Mumaugh Fifer. She married Robert Burton in 1937. They divorced, and he died in 1991. She married Frank Czech on Feb. 13, 1960, in Oceanside, Calif. He died in 1989.
She works as a seamstress, a butcher and a homemaker. She enjoyed oil painting, sewing and gardening. She was a member of Women of the Moose and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Burton of Salem, L. Odell Burton of Las Vegas and W. Fred Burton of Springfield; a brother, Freddie Fifer of Toledo; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Musgrove Family Mortuary, Eugene. The funeral Mass will be held at Oceanside, Calif., with burial at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Calif. Musgrove Family Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
