Gladys Louise Mumma
Gladys Louise Mumma died on Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at Stollwood Convalescent Hospital. She was 88 years old.
Mrs. Mumma was born on Aug. 17, 1915, in Dunnigan to Frank and Ida Fletcher, and was a lifelong resident of Dunnigan. She attended Woodland High School and married Thomas Mumma on Oct. 31, 1937. She had lived in the same Dunnigan home - in which she was born and raised - for the past 30 years. She took great pride, family members report, in caring for her son, Lance, who had Downs Syndrome.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Thomas Mumma; daughter, Barbara Allen of Mountain View; sons, Sid Mumma of Dunnigan, Stephen Mumma of Lincoln, and Stewart Mumma of Arbuckle. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Lance, and her brothers Brick and Gordon Fletcher.
Services: Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 11, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at the McNary-Moore Funeral Home in Colusa. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 12, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Arbuckle. Burial will follow in the Arbuckle Catholic Cemetery with Father John Myles officiating.
